3. Configuration & Thresholds
Configure alert thresholds and notification settings.
WatchDog configuration is managed through the addon settings in NinjaTrader. You can adjust alert thresholds, notification frequency, and which accounts to monitor.
Configuration Options
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Check Interval | 10 seconds | How often WatchDog checks the broker connection status. |
| Alert Cooldown | 60 seconds | Minimum time between repeated disconnect alerts to prevent spam. |
| Bot Token | — | Telegram bot token from @BotFather. |
| Chat ID | — | Your Telegram Chat ID from @userinfobot. |
| Enable Monitoring | On | Master toggle for connection monitoring. |
Alert Types
| Alert | When It Fires |
|---|---|
| Disconnect | Immediately when NinjaTrader loses its broker connection. |
| Reconnect | When the connection is restored. Includes total downtime duration. |
| Startup | When WatchDog starts monitoring (confirms it is running). |
Multiple Account Monitoring
WatchDog monitors all broker accounts connected in NinjaTrader simultaneously. If any account loses its connection, you receive an alert identifying which account disconnected. No additional configuration is needed — it detects all accounts automatically.
Important
WatchDog monitors the connection between NinjaTrader and your broker. It does not monitor internet connectivity, TradingView, or NinjaSync. For NinjaSync connection monitoring, use the built-in Connection Monitor in NinjaSync settings.
